2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature
Tiny pinch of salt
1 ½ teapoons vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon + of whipping cream
With a whisk attachment in a stand mixer, slowly mix sugar (1/2 cup at a time), salt and butter. When well combined, add vanilla and whipping cream. Turn mixer to medium speed and beat until very creamy and light about 3 minutes.. If necessary to achieve correct consistency, add a bit of additional whipping cream.
