Red Star PLATINUM Yeast
Baking Entry - Charlotte's Challah
As we have previously posted, the recipes that were submitted for the Red Star PLATINUM Yeast Sampling/Baking contest were terrific. So many talented bakers out there - and each one submitted a picture attesting to the results of the product (and their own talents of course!) We have previously posted several of the recipes and promised to post more. So this week we are sharing Charlotte Orrin's recipe for Charlotte's Challah. The recipe produces 3 delicious looking challahs. Enjoy and thank you Charlotte for sharing your recipe with us.

Buy Israel Week
You can support our friends and family in Israel when you buy products made in Israel. From February 25-March 3 Buy Israel Week gives you that opportunity.
In 2005 a global movement was launched for a campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. Since then, events with Israeli speakers, Israeli universities, stores that carry Israeli products, and Israeli companies have been boycotted with the goal of delegitimizing Israel.
The goal of BUY ISRAEL WEEK is to combat the efforts of the BDS protestors through purchasing power. Every purchase can help make a difference. Many Israeli institutions are responsible for scientific research to cure disease; Israeli companies develop technology that we use in our cell phones and computers, and new energy technologies are used in other countries. Whether switching your brand of coffee or purchasing a gift, you can actively make the decision to buy Israel.
The effort is organized by jdeal.com, The Jewish Week Media Group of NY, Washington Jewish Week, Florida Jewish Journal, Tribe Media Corporation, the Jewish Standard of New Jersey, the Chicago Jewish News, Texas Jewish Post, J. the Jewish News Weekly of Northern California and Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, Philadelphia Exponent, Baltimore Jewish Times.–in the United States, as well as Israel-America Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturers' Association of Israel, Israel Export and Cooperation Institute, Conference of Presidents, United with Israel and Stand With Us.
KosherEye supports the effort! We encourage you to
visit the website, browse the products and BUY something!

Edible Armored Mud Balls
Purim or Everyday Fun!
Our friend, Paula, who blogs as Americana the Beautiful is on a one year road trip, experiencing and photographing the wonders, festivals and sights of the USA. In addition to her amazing posts, she shares recipes and food discoveries with us. As Paula travels from sea to shining sea in her RV, we are riding along with her, vicariously of course, but reading every word of her blog. Safe travels Paula, and hope that you pick up some new "riders" at americanathebeautiful.org.
Armored Mud Balls are the Badlands version of natural snowballs. They form when water washes down a streambed and starts to roll sticky clay into a round shape. As the ball continues to tumble, it picks up more and more little pebbles, mud and rock making layers of "armor."
Use the same principles to make your own tasty version. What a clever Purim treat for your western themed mishloach manot baskets. Add a bandana, a cowboy hat, some kosher beef jerky, and maybe a beer – and you're all set "pardner"!

New Kitchen Faucet from Israel
There are many Jewish households that hesitate to purchase a single handled kitchen faucet – to avoid inadvertently turning on the water heater, which is forbidden on Shabbat.
However a new faucet from Israel solves that problem with a simple switch, which can be turned on just before Shabbat, similar to activating the Sabbath mode on a refrigerator!
According to Rick Glickman kitchen designer, the faucet presently is available exclusively at Dream Kitchens. The company is offering KosherEye readers a special price of $475 plus shipping. The list price is $554. If ordering, mention the word: Kosher.
Please check with your rabbinical advisor to ensure that this faucet is appropriate for your Shabbos use.
