Her happy and motivated students and clients often requested a cookbook, which inspired the birth of Cook in Israel.

The book offers 100 recipes, each accompanied by a full color photograph, and many step-by-step illustrations. The recipes are healthy and appealing. sharing Orly's belief that home cooking doesn't need to be time consuming nor complicated. Using familiar and easy to find ingredients, readers learn to make gourmet dishes simply and quickly. Orly explains that "Enjoying a Mediterranean diet is easier than many think. "One can use typical ingredients in a new way and discover that simple changes lead to amazing results." Most of the recipes require 30 minutes or less to prepare. Recipes for Jewish holidays are included, as well as contemporary new dishes and traditional favorites.

KosherEye enjoyed this book, and particularly liked the warmth and friendliness that Orly shares with her readers. Her love of Israel, and the Israeli food culture is apparent.
