The growth continued as more items were added through the purchase of other companies and brands such as Popeye Brand Spinach. In 1988, Roderick Allen, current owner and CEO, took over leadership responsibilities from his father. The company, re–named Allens Inc. in 2006, has continued to grow with the acquisition of Trappeys, Princella, Veg-All, Freshlike, and New Harvest Foods Flint River Foods and the non–branded frozen vegetable division of Birdseye Food. The Allens' family tradition continues under the leadership of Rick Allen, CEO, and his sons, Josh and Nick, who are currently serving as Executive Vice Presidents and working to lead Allens, Inc. into the future.
