Copycat Kosher - Famous Dave’s "Drunkin’ Apples"...,
Adapted from a wildly popular restaurant recipe as printed in People Magazine
Ingredients
3 tbsp. butter or parve substitute like coconut oil or Earth Balance
½ cup sugar
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
3 tbsp. honey
3 tbsp. Amaretto
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
3 tbsp. orange juice concentrate, thawed
1/3-cup cold water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2½ lbs. Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
Ground cinnamon
Directions
Melt butter/margarine in a Dutch oven over medium heat; stir in sugar and next five ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil; Stir occasionally; Simmer about 1 minute.
Combine orange juice concentrate and water in a small bowl. Add cornstarch, whisking until smooth.
Add orange juice mixture into hot sugar mixture; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Stir apple slices into sugar mixture; cover and simmer about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover; simmer 5 minutes or until apples are tender.
Sprinkle apples with additional cinnamon; serve immediately, or reheat gently before serving.

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients
1 ¼ cups flour
1 egg
1 ¼ cups buttermilk
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup vegetable oil
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
4 Tablespoons butter for frying
Directions
Whisk first 8 ingredients together until well combined
Preheat a fry pan or grill pan; melt about a tablespoon of the butter into the pan
Pour 1/3 cup batter into pan
When edges are bubbly and appear firm, flip
Remove when golden brown
Repeat until all batter is used
Makes about 8 pancakes; Double or triple as necessary
