Product of GIR:  Get It Right
The Ultimate in Silicone Spatulas

Stir up some Color! Function does not have to be blah and boring, especially in the kitchen. Bravo to the GIR:Get It Right design team... They "design tools to make kitchens happy"!

The GIR Spatula was born in 2012 by the GIR team who decided that using two-piece spatulas and similar utensils just didn't cut it. They set out to create category-killing tools. After a Kickstarter campaign and hundreds of fan reviews later, the GIR Spatula was born, designed for superior durability and usability. Even the colors are irresistible.

From Samantha Rose, the founder of GIR... "These unibody silicone tools were my answer to spatulas that kept breaking, staining, melting, or coming apart. They are built to last a lifetime in the kitchen;

GIR Tools are perfect for the kosher kitchen- in a rainbow of colors for easy color separation of dairy and meat utensils-- just choose any 2 colors – that is if you can. We love all of them.

The Crack'em

Who knew that we needed one of these? Where do YOU crack your eggs? On the dish, the bowl, the counter, the sink?  How hard do you “rap”? Yes, they all work - but we seem to always end up with an eggy mess… usually some shell, and often some egg drips.

Enter, the Crack’em! It is a dishwasher safe tray with a single slightly raised edge that provides the perfect surface to crack an egg, catching all the drips including the egg white. The cracked egg can easily be poured into a bowl or pan.

Because of kashrut, and the prohibition of using eggs with blood spots, cracking one egg at a time is the rule in kosher homes. The surface of the Crack’em (ours is white) allows full inspection of each egg.

Does anyone really need a tool for making vegetable spirals and ribbons? How would we use it? We quickly discovered that a spiralizer is a gadget that can nudge our family into eating more veggies. Equipped with four blades, the Paderno Spiralizer transforms vegetables into thin strands as well as spiral cuts, shoestrings and ribbon "noodles." Another plus is an accessory for creating fancy accordion cuts. This spiral vegetable slicer is great for slicing raw vegetables and fruits for salads, pastas, side dishes, stir-fry's and garnishes, and even shoestring fries.

Spiralized veggies can then be steamed, sautéed, roasted or eaten raw. The Paderno 4 blade Spiralizer is simple to use -  prongs hold vegetables tightly against a cutting blade-while a crank is turned to produce long ribbons or skinny, curled, and twisted pasta-like spirals. We particularly liked the way it worked on beets and zucchini. We even used it to add strands of cucumbers and carrots to our sushi salad.

This is the updated version of the original Paderno Spiralizer Slicer, which was actually created about 20 years ago. By the way, this spiral slicer was selected as best in its category by Cook's Illustrated.

Paderno World-Cuisine 4 Blade Spiralizer

  • The compact base minimizes counter and storage space, and houses extra easy to remove blades.
  • Its clear cover doubles as a tray to catch ribbons as they are cut
  • Suction feet offer stability during use
  • Disassembles easily for storage
  • Top shelf dishwasher safe
  • Four stainless blades include: Spiral, Angel Hair Shredder, Fine Shredder, Coarse Shredder
  • Includes four stainless-steel blades: angel-hair shredder, chipper, fine shredder and straight blade, plus a pin accessory to use with the blades to create accordion cuts.
  • Use with firm fruits and vegetables, including apples, potatoes, carrots, cucumber, zucchini, beets and more.

Who wants to grill in the cold of winter? We do! Now that we have discovered this awesome indoor grill, we can! The best news: if you live in an apartment condo or residence lacking outdoor space, now you can grill -any time, any season. For the kosher cook, Stephen's Stovetop BBQ offers an extra special bonus- it is very portable and easy to transport, a great option for a vacation home or rental.

The grill can be used atop any gas cooktop or range on an open flame. It works well with fish, lean meats, and vegetables and gives food an outdoor grill flavor. We tried it with fish and vegetables (we're keeping our bbq parve), and as we grilled, we felt like those TV chefs. (Sizzle, sizzle) We particularly liked how our vegetables actually charred. Our veggies and salmon were awesome. There was minimal smoke –And the best news, every part of the grill goes in the dishwasher.

Stephen's explains: "Most indoor grill pans are simply modified fry pans with ridges added for grill marks." However, Stephen's is different- it is very convenient, non-stick, and offers the opportunity to have flame-grilled food indoors, with low smoke. (The company suggests using lean meats when grilling – which avoids creating excessive smoke- and of course, is healthier as well). Marinades and sauces are added after the grilling process.
Made of heavy-grade durable aluminum, it has an 11" round cooking surface and a nonstick drip tray that collects excess grease from food while cooking.

• 11-inch grill for use with gas range
• Aluminum with non-stick coating
• BBQ-grilled flavor from direct fire cooking
• Fast cooking from conductive and convective design
• 100% dishwasher safe. Easy to use and clean.
• 2 year warranty
